ASHLAND, KY (June 28, 2012) – Steve Francis of Ashland, KY picked up his third Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory of 2012 last Friday Night at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC.  Steve started fourth on the grid and quickly made his presence known as he took the lead from Don O’Neal on lap 19.  Steve would then lead the rest of the way holding off both Steve Shaver and Jonathan Davenport for the win.

On Saturday Night, Steve and the Barry Wright Race Team would head to Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, VA for another LOLMDS event.  Wythe was the site of Steve’s first career win back in 1984, and he had not raced there since.  Steve would wind up a disappointing 14th place in the final rundown.

Steve is still fourth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Points as the series heads to the Buckeye State of Ohio for two upcoming events.  On Sunday Night, July 1st the series visits Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH for a $10,000 to win event.  On Tuesday Night, July 3rd the series ventures to Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, OH for another $10,000 to win race.
