Steve Francis Finishes Sixth in DART Show-Me 100; Ready for Tazewell and Florence

ASHLAND, KY (May 31, 2012) – Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series driver, Steve Francis of Ashland, KY competed in two events over the Memorial Day Weekend.  On Friday and Saturday, May 25th and 26th he competed at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO and Sunday, May 27th at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL.

Steve started 14th in the 20th Annual DART Show-Me 100 Presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com on Saturday Night at Lucas Oil Speedway.  He gradually worked his way through the field to finish in sixth place.  The event which was taped by Lucas Oil Production Studios will be shown on CBS on June 24th.

On Sunday Night, Steve ventured to Tri-City Speedway for the Budweiser 50.  Steve would lead early on and eventually would wind up in fourth place at the finish in the UMP event won by Billy Moyer.

After Wheatland, Steve is still fourth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Points Standings.  He is only 80-points behind the second-place driver, Don O’Neal.

This weekend Steve will be back in action with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.  On Friday Night, June 1st Steve will compete in the Toyota of Knoxville 50 at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN.  On Saturday Night, June 2nd Steve will race in the 26th Annual Ralph Latham Memorial Race at Florence Speedway in Union, KY.  Steve is a 2-time winner of the race in 1997 and 2002.
